1 Chronicles 13 — Why Did God Kill Uzzah?

“And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark.”
— 1 Chronicles 13:10

At first glance it seems unfair — Uzzah was only trying to keep the ark from falling. But the real issue began much earlier. The ark was to be carried by the Levites on poles, not moved on a new cart the Philistine way.

God's holiness is not measured by our intentions, but by our obedience.
