Genesis 1 — God Created Order Before He Created Man
Genesis 1 is more than creation — it is God's blueprint for His Kingdom: order, provision, blessing, and identity before performance, all pointing to Christ the Light.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1
Introduction
Genesis begins, not with humanity, but with God. The Bible does not attempt to prove God’s existence. It assumes it. Everything that follows in Scripture flows from this single truth: God is the beginning of everything.
Genesis 1 is far more than the story of creation. It is God’s revelation of how His Kingdom functions. Before sin entered the world, before covenants, before Israel, before the Church, God established divine principles that still govern life today.
Genesis 1 reveals that God is a God of order, purpose, authority, blessing, and multiplication.
Hidden Treasure #1 — God Created Light Before the Sun
One of Genesis 1’s greatest mysteries is this: light appeared on Day One. The sun was not created until Day Four. How can there be light without the sun?
Because God Himself is the source of light. The sun simply became its carrier. This points us directly to Christ, who said, “I am the light of the world.” The source has never been creation. The source has always been the Creator.
Hidden Treasure #2 — God Never Created Chaos
Genesis says, “The earth was without form and void.” Notice something. God created the heavens and the earth, but He never creates disorder. His first recorded acts are bringing order to what is empty and forming what lacks purpose.
Hidden Treasure #3 — Every Day Began With God’s Voice
God never fought darkness. He spoke. The Kingdom advances through revelation, not striving.
Many believers spend their lives wrestling with darkness. God simply introduces light. The answer to darkness has never been panic. It has always been revelation.
Hidden Treasure #4 — Separation Came Before Blessing
God continually separated: light from darkness, waters above from waters below, sea from dry land. Only after separation came fruitfulness.
Hidden Treasure #5 — God Created Before Man Worked
Everything Adam needed already existed. Provision preceded performance. The Kingdom has always been grace before works.
God is never reacting to our needs. He prepares long before we recognize them.
Hidden Treasure #6 — God Blessed Before Man Achieved
Adam had accomplished nothing. Yet God blessed him.
Hidden Treasure #7 — Humanity Was Created Last
Everything else was prepared first—the earth, the rivers, the animals, the food. Then man.
Christ Revealed
Genesis begins with, “In the beginning…” John begins with, “In the beginning…” Creation begins through the Word. Redemption begins through the Word made flesh.
The One speaking light into darkness in Genesis is the same Christ who later declares, “I am the Light of the world.” Genesis 1 whispers His name long before Bethlehem.
